So just for the sake of something to do while the missus ignores me, I thought I might start another Movie Night Marathon type thing. Something that I’m not normally allowed to watch, especially after I’ve had cheese for supper. So here goes…
George A. Romero’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
A girl gets chased by a zombie and escapes to an old farm house, where she and a small group of survivors have to hold out until dawn, as the flash eating horde threatens to consume them all.
WHY IT IS GOOD!
It’s the Zombie movie that launched a genre! The zombies are genuinely scary, despite minimal makeup or zombie-ish tendancies! The black and white just makes the thing spookier, with shadows everywhere making everything a threat (I used to have the colourised version and it was damn awful)! THEY’RE COMING TO GET YOU BARBARA!
CHANCE OF FALLING ASLEEP!
4/10 – I have fallen asleep to this film a few times, but usually because I’ve started watching it at midnight.
RATING ON THE FUDGECRUMPET SCALE OF AWESOMENESS!
