Hey peeps, something bad happened.

I arranged to be sent Weekend Box’s new mini-weekend box featuring Snazaroo face paints so I could review it, and… well…

So, basically what was sent was a small face painting kit, along with a bunch of small activities and such (y’know, for kids), and since it was addressed to Meg (7), and I hadn’t warned Gem beforehand it was coming… Meg got there first.

Now I don’t know exactly what happened, all I know is that when I arrived home, Gem wasn’t best pleased, the kids were in towels after baths and very little remained of the expected activity kit. (more…)

They’re back at school now so hopefully they’ll stop being fucking locusts on all the food in my house. It’s been like 6 weeks since I’ve been able to find a packet of crisps.

Bloody creatures.

Here is them in front of a door. Probably using up all the wifi and leaving the lights on and that.

That’s your fucking parenting blog. Next week, breast feeding and sore nipples and e-numbers and other things. Not really, that’s all hateful shit.

Use a condom.

There’s a brand new movie of Roald Dahl’s The BFG out, and I’ve been asked to review the new movie tie-in edition of the book, packed with bonus activities and such.

Invited Jess to help me review, because I thought she could do with a break from her busy schedule of doing whatever it is 11 year-olds do, watching Miranda Sings on YouTube or not tidying up.

Another day, another book review from Meg. This is Tiger Days and the Secret Cat by Sarah Lean. A story about a young girl called Tiger Days and a cat that is secret…. So, yeah, Meg read it, not me. I thought it’d be a book about a tiger.

So, with my initial disappointment as to a lack of tigers fading, I asked Meg all about the book.
FUDGEY – Right then. Is this book not about tigers then?

Meg has helped me to review the first book in the Adventures of Pug series: Captain Pug – The Dog Who Sailed the Seas by Laura James. A story about a posh lady’s pet dog who finds himself going on a seafaring adventure, despite being afraid of water.

So, without futher ado, and with some chocolate based bribery, I got Meg to spill the beans on this exciting pug-venture.

Meg has helped me to review Dotty Detective by Clara Vulliamy, a story about a super secret agent and her pet dog called McClusky.

I interrupted Megan’s busy schedule of doing whatever 6-year-olds do and asked her all about the book.

Jess is helping me to review Jacqueline Wilson’s Rent A Bridesmaid, which is quite possibly the pinkest book I’ve ever looked at. It follows the adventures of Tilly, a 9-year-old girl who gets given a beautiful pink bridesmaid dress and then rents out her services as a bridesmaid to a whole manner of different couples, with the ultimate dream of being bridesmaid at her Dad’s wedding.
