HONK!

PARP!

GNNNRRRRK-PLURRRFFFFF!

Making noises is fun, and usually they just get me told off by Gem and all like “You’re in a doctor’s waiting room, you’re 38 years old, just shut up and do a Take A Break puzzle”, but once in a while some excuse comes along where I can let my inner Michael Winslow loose and I get to have a little noisy fun.

This is Soundiculous, a sound-based family party game (from the makers of Randomise) for 3-10 players aged 8+. It is great fun, and annoys the pants off of Gem to the extent that her pants refuse to come off in a much more literal sense, later in the evening.

Also, how can you not know who Michael Winslow is? You uncultured swine. He’s a flipping legend.

WoooOooOoo spooky.

Woooo.

Hello. I figured it was about time I repeated the ‘success’ of my Erotic Story Contest and do something completely different but also exactly the same. It’s October though, so rather than eroticism let’s go with the Halloween theme and make it spooky. Woooo.

It’s not a nice day today, but if it were, I would heartily encourage you to get your socks and shoes on and heading outside for a bit of a run about with the kids.

To publicise the latest Percy Jackson book, the lovely PR people are encouraging everyone to get outside and play Capture The Flag, a game made popular in the first book in the series Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, following the adventures of the teenage demi-god as he mucks about getting involved in all sorts of magical shenanigans.

I think I’ve been promising a make-up tutorial video for a while, so here you go.

Meg helps me to don a Poundland (might have been Poundworld) Zip-Face Horror make-up kit. It doesn’t quite go as planned.

Anyway, enjoy the video, like and subscribe too, because that makes my phone buzz in my pocket.

Those lovely people over a Little Party Parcels sent us a sample box full of the different pre-filled party bags they offer, in an effort to remove one of the most costly and faffy parts of organising a kids’ birthday party – the filling of little bags with little toys and nonsense, so that they might go home and make a mess in their own bloody house…

Gem and I always get in a fight when it comes to party bags, I always think girls should be allowed to have little army men with parachutes and water pistols, she seems to think pencils and lip balms are more fun. She is wrong obviously. Anyway, no need for that argument ever again…

Describe to me a helpful manatee flipping pancakes? No? OK…

Act our a famous leprechaun throwing a javelin? Give up? Right…

Draw an obnoxious koala travelling back in time.

Sounds like a bunch of mad challenges, right? Well, these are all things for you to describe, act out or draw in RANDOMISE, a party game that combines Pictionary, Charades and Articulate/Taboo, but takes things to an absurd, abstract, awesome new level of nonsense.

Hello. My name is Al, and I have a beard. Therefore, asking me to review one of the world’s most notorious pieces of Anti-Beard propaganda is probably not the best idea.

Twits

Fortunately, when asked to review Roald Dahl’s The Twits, recently re-released in both hardback (with a real beard) and paperback (with scratch and sniff stickers) I had Jess and Meg on hand to help. Jess has read the book a few times before (dare I say it’s one of her favourites?) and we’ve been reading four chapters a night at bedtime for the past week.
