You know how some blogs and internet people have gofundme things for stuff, or a patreon thing to pay for their online activities, or an Amazon wish list for sex toys and wonderbras, right? We all hate that web-based begging and abuse of the charity and goodwill of others for stupid endeavours, yeah? That money could be going to help orphans instead, couldn’t it?

Well, Gem says I’m not allowed to buy this for myself. She is mean. This is amazing.

I know it’s cheeky as fuck, but I need this so bad for comedy purposes.

Help a guy out… Love you x

Edit – Thanks to my very silly sponsor over at maddr.co.uk (supplier of all manner of wonderful vaping goodies and such) this ridiculous nonsense has been fully funded and the Whoopee Cushion Costume is due on Thursday. YAY!

Slasher movies. You know the type. Cute blonde girl runs away from a masked gimmicky murderer. You’re bored of the formula, and have been ever since the 80s, or at best since the mid-90s when there was that ironic revival phase. All those clich├ęs, stupid decisions and macguffins serving to provide lazy set-pieces and half-arsed jump scares. Wouldn’t it be nice if a horror movie went out of its way not to do that, to break the mould and bring life back into what is essentially a genre that has fallen over and twisted its ankle, while running away from some sort of knife wielding metaphor in a metaphorical metaphor mask.

Well, look who it is, Jim Rothman, creator of Scythe, a new ‘realistic’ slasher movie that promises to break genre conventions and return to good old fashioned scares. I sent a bunch of questions his way, and he was kind enough to reply with proper words and not just a GIF of someone doing a rude finger gesture. The Kickstarter for Scythe is well on its way to getting the $50,000 required to fund this independent movie, and a whole host of perks are available to supporters of the project.

You know I love zombie films, I know most of you love zombie films, but do you ever think that maybe they’re a bit samey? Folk run from zombies, zombies eat most of the people, shenanigans occur.Well, here is something a little different, based on the web series of the same name, Zombie With A Shotgun is a new Indiegogo project aiming to shake up the genre, making the zombies (no doubt with shotguns) the heroes of the tale, battling for survival in a post-apocalyptic world.

If you want, you can head straight over to the Indiegogo site to contribute, but to whet your appetite, here’s a little Q&A session I did with Hilton Ariel Ruiz, the creator of the webseries and movie.

So, remember back in the olden days when I sang the praises of the movie The Battery? Well, they ran a Kickstarter so they could afford not to die after throwing all their money into their second movie. So, rather than funding the movie, the lovely people on the internet have paid to support the creators instead. What you end up with is a rather funky idea, a movie released for free, almost instantly.

So, in an attempt to somehow take credit for the project’s success (I retweeted about it at least four times), I present TEX MONTANA WILL SURVIVE, and ask that you share it with all your friends, and continue to support Jeremy’s beard at least until he cashes in his Kickstarter money and buys a Gillette Mach 3.
