HONK!

PARP!

GNNNRRRRK-PLURRRFFFFF!

Making noises is fun, and usually they just get me told off by Gem and all like “You’re in a doctor’s waiting room, you’re 38 years old, just shut up and do a Take A Break puzzle”, but once in a while some excuse comes along where I can let my inner Michael Winslow loose and I get to have a little noisy fun.

This is Soundiculous, a sound-based family party game (from the makers of Randomise) for 3-10 players aged 8+. It is great fun, and annoys the pants off of Gem to the extent that her pants refuse to come off in a much more literal sense, later in the evening.

Also, how can you not know who Michael Winslow is? You uncultured swine. He’s a flipping legend.

Those lovely people over a Little Party Parcels sent us a sample box full of the different pre-filled party bags they offer, in an effort to remove one of the most costly and faffy parts of organising a kids’ birthday party – the filling of little bags with little toys and nonsense, so that they might go home and make a mess in their own bloody house…

Gem and I always get in a fight when it comes to party bags, I always think girls should be allowed to have little army men with parachutes and water pistols, she seems to think pencils and lip balms are more fun. She is wrong obviously. Anyway, no need for that argument ever again…

Describe to me a helpful manatee flipping pancakes? No? OK…

Act our a famous leprechaun throwing a javelin? Give up? Right…

Draw an obnoxious koala travelling back in time.

Sounds like a bunch of mad challenges, right? Well, these are all things for you to describe, act out or draw in RANDOMISE, a party game that combines Pictionary, Charades and Articulate/Taboo, but takes things to an absurd, abstract, awesome new level of nonsense.

I’ve always thought I was fairly skilled,
With this blog that you’ve seen me build.
Reviewing all different kinds of stuff,
Some of it clever, some of it fluff.

It’s rare for me to admit defeat,
Some things I review nearly got me beat.
That time I talked about a lady toy,
Or those undies that made you say “oh boy.”

Well this time I can say I’m beaten,
Ruined, spoiled, chewed up and eaten.
You should mark the tragic day,
I couldn’t do my review for Coloured Lenses UK.

Hey peeps, do you like beer? Do you like Tequila? Do you like Tequila beer? Then you’ve probably already heard of Desperados, the tequila flavoured beer that makes my missus turn into a giggling mess halfway up the stairs. Well, the lovely folk at Desperados, along with UKF are launching CityHack, a competition opportunity for DJs, artists, promoters, designers and general creative folk, giving YOU the opportunity to throw massive, unique parties in one of three UK cities.

Here’s a video about it, watch that…

Fudgey Vs The Playgym

It’s October and that basically means a month of birthday parties, cake and such nonsense. Today was the first of Meg’s birthday parties (she gets a joint family party with her sister on Saturday, and a McDonalds (her choice) on her actual birthday) which was held at The Magical Forest in Marsh, Huddersfield.

It’s a lovely massive playgym in an old church hall, and it offers fairly decent prices for parties and such.

Which basically brings me to tonight’s feature presentation, my adventure in said playgym, following Meg to the top level, then attempting to get out with all my legs attached. I’ve added some music on the top in an attempt to drown out the screaming, and the YouTube image stabilisation makes it looks a bit weird, but I hope you’ll enjoy my struggle…
